Frequently Asked Questions at The Glow Haus
-
At Glow Haus, we welcome clients starting at 12 years old.
Anyone under the age of 16 must have consent from a parent or legal guardian before receiving a spray tan. A parent or guardian may be required to complete a consent form before your appointment.
-
We recommend waiting approximately 7–10 days between spray tans to allow your previous tan to fully develop and fade naturally.
Spray tanning does not expose your skin to UV rays like indoor tanning or sunbathing. However, your skin still needs time to naturally shed and renew between appointments.
For the best and most even results, we recommend exfoliating and removing your previous tan before your next appointment.
-
We recommend arriving in loose-fitting, dark clothing that is easy to put on after your spray tan.
Avoid tight clothing, socks, bras, or anything that may rub against your skin immediately after your appointment. Loose dresses, oversized sweatshirts, and flowy pants are great options.
The less friction on your fresh tan, the better!
-
We recommend arriving 5–10 minutes before your appointment.
This gives you time to check in, use the washroom if needed, and get comfortable before your spray tan.
If it's your first visit, arriving a few minutes early also gives us time to answer any questions and walk you through the process.
-
We understand that life happens! We allow a 15-minute grace period for late arrivals.
Arriving late may shorten your appointment time, depending on the schedule for the day. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, your appointment may need to be cancelled or rescheduled, and you may be charged the full appointment fee.
Please contact us as soon as possible if you know you'll be late.
-
We recommend waiting until your sunburn has fully healed before getting a spray tan.
While a spray tan can technically be applied to sunburned skin, it may not develop evenly. As the skin peels and heals, your tan may become patchy or fade unevenly.
For the most beautiful and long-lasting results, we recommend waiting until your skin is healthy, healed, and no longer peeling.
-
We recommend speaking with your healthcare provider if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before receiving a spray tan.
If you receive approval from your healthcare provider, please let us know before your appointment so we can discuss your options and make sure you feel comfortable throughout your experience.
-
If you have sensitive skin or have experienced reactions to tanning products in the past, please let us know before your appointment.
We can discuss your concerns and, when appropriate, perform a small patch test before your full spray tan to help determine how your skin reacts to the product.
While our products are selected with skin safety in mind, everyone's skin is different. If you have a known allergy or sensitivity to any ingredients, please let us know before your appointment.
-
We understand that plans can change!
You can cancel or reschedule your appointment up to 24 hours before your scheduled appointment time without a cancellation fee.
Cancellations or rescheduling requests made with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to a full appointment charge.
If you need to make a change, please contact us as soon as possible.
-
No.
A spray tan does not provide protection from UV rays or prevent sunburn.
You should always continue using an appropriate broad-spectrum sunscreen when spending time outdoors, even when you have a spray tan.
-
Absolutely!
We recommend booking your spray tan a few days before your event rather than the day of, depending on the type of solution you're using and your desired result.
For weddings, we recommend booking a trial tan several weeks before your wedding day. This gives us a chance to find your perfect shade and make any adjustments before your big day.
